Lost or Forgotten Packing Key
We do not have access to the unencrypted customer Packing Key. This security feature of the Passpack solution prevents even Passpack employees from seeing anything sensitive. If the Packing Key is lost, we recommend trying to recover it first. If that does not work, the only option is to delete the account and for you to set up a new Passpack account.
Please try to recall the Packing Key. Here are somethings that may help.
- Was your Packing Key a Word or Phrase?
- Did the Packing Key you created have a reference to a Person, Pet, Place, Something You Like or Dislike, Life Experience, or Significant Event? These are just suggestions to try and help you recall the Packing Key.
- Sometimes, an extra space at the end or beginning of the Packing Key can cause an issue.
Use Notepad/Word/some other text editor and write down what you think it is. Then copy/paste it into the window.
Sometimes, there are unintended spaces or capitalizations when people type, which is evident with this approach. We encourage people to keep track of the Packing Key when signing up. If you happened to write it down and put it in a safe or some other secure location.
Once you gain access, you can now make a Backup of Your Packing Key in the Passpack App from the Settings Menu.
You have as many attempts as required to try your Packing Key. You do not need to be afraid of locking yourself out as you try different Packing Key options.
